Optional Social Event

Balboa Park, 12:30 - 6:00 PM

Something for everyone! Balboa Park is a large recreation and cultural center with the most prominent feature being the 200 ft. California Tower containing a 100-bell carillon that chimes every 15 minutes with thirteen (13) different museums all in one area. You will receive a Balboa Passport that will permit you to enter eleven (11) different museums. Your passport will be good for one (1) week in case you can't get it all in on Friday afternoon. A bus will pick you up at our hotel, transport you into the park and return you to the hotel later. Most of the museums are within walking distance of one another, but once you are inside the park you do have access to the park tram. All the museums close at 4:30 PM with the exception of two.

Here is the complete list of the museums: Botanical Building, Hall of Champions Sports Museum, House of Pacific Relations International Cottages, Inc., Japanese Friendship Garden, Museum of Photographic Arts, Museum of San Diego History, Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center (closes at 9:00 PM), San Diego Aerospace Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Museum of Man, San Diego Natural History Museum (closes at 5:30 PM)

The cost is $25.00 per person which covers the passport, transportation and a box lunch. Pre-registration is required. See the form in the center of this program.
