NITRD Panel: Making AI Forget You

Thursday, 12 December 2019
13:30 - 15:00

Abstract:
Being able to change consent for data use is an important privacy requirement but a challenging technical problem in the age of AI. The California Consumer Privacy Act provides consumers the right to request that a business delete personal information about them; similarly, the EU’s GDPR gives EU individuals the right to have their personal data erased. When personal information is imbedded in ML models, how do we efficiently and effectively remove it? Panelists will discuss challenges and promising solutions for how to make ML forget.
