Network Dialog Minimization and Network Dialog Diffing: Two Novel Primitives for Network Security Applications

This work presents two novel network security primitives: Network Dialog Minimization, which simplifies a network dialog with respect to a goal, so that the goal is achieved with minimal communication; and Network Dialog Diffing, which aligns two network dialogs, identifying their commonalities and differences. We apply the primitives on 5 network security applications.
