We show that cheap WiFi dongles can carry out advanced low-layer attacks. In particular we implement five low-layer attacks by modifying Atheros firmware. For example, we implemented a selective jammer. These low-layer attacks enable novel attacks on high-layer protocols, e.g., attacking TKIP when used as the group cipher.
