Abstract:
Alphanumeric passwords are widely used in computer and network authentication to protect user privacy. However, it is well known that long, text-based passwords are hard for people to remember, while the short ones are susceptible to attack. Graphical password is a promising scheme emerged to solve this problem. DAS is a typical implementation based on user’s drawing and recalling on a grid canvas. Nevertheless, too many constraints reduce the user’s experiences and prevent its popularity. A novel graphical password strategy (YAGP) inspired by DAS is proposed in this paper which has the distinctive advantages of free drawing positions, strong shoulder surfing resistance and large password space. We estimated our strategy and it proved working effectively.
