Panel: Governmental Research Needs: Who Funds What

Moderator: Deborah Frincke, Chief Scientist CyberSecurity, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, WA

Operating a research program takes vision, time, patience, energy, a certain amount of luck . and funding. This panel is intended to help researchers understand the kinds of hard problems that government programs and government agencies are willing to sponsor in cybersecurity, and what approaches are most effective. In addition to talking about the hard problems that government seeks to address through basic research investments, the speakers will talk about how those hard problems are selected, and the kinds of solutions (basic research, technology transfer, product development) their agencies are looking for.
